Q: What did you do prior to
becoming a recruiter?
A: I
was District Director for the Southwest Region for Jafra Cosmetics.
Q: Why did you decide to become
a recruiter and what year (xx, xx, xxxx) did you become a recruiter?
A: Joanie
Zeck, manager of the LA office of MRI and Sales Consultants
approached and recruited me as an AE (I had worked with her for
eight years at Jafra). I later became manager of the Orange
corporate office. I believe my recruiting career started in February
of 1985. Actually, I recruited many sales people for my region when
I was a regional manager for Jafra (12 years).
Q: Who were your role
models and are you mentoring others now?
A: Joanie Zeck and the management
at MRI were my role models, and my fellow recruiters I work with now
in my business serve as my role models and mentoring partners. I do
mentor a very good recruiter in Florida that recruits attorneys only
in Chicago.
Q: If you were asked what your
job title is, how would you respond?
A. I'm
an executive recruiter
. I specialize in searching for top
sales and management talent for my client companies.

A: I'm an

and management talent for my client companies.
Q: Is your primary job
function sales driven or recruiting driven?
A: It
has to be both. I recruit and sell to the companies and the talent
within those companies in my industry. I love the recruiting end,
but you have to always effectively promote what you actually do.
That's selling.
Q: Why did
you join USRC and what prompts you to continue to be a member?
A:
Some very
good recruiters I knew were members, and being an independent
recruiter, I wanted to be part of a national recruiting network. I
continue to be a member of USRC because it's profitable. Oh, and I
do enjoy Belonging To The Nation's Leading Network of Independent
Recruiters,
